Our back up vehicle carries the riders’ luggage between overnight stops. We also carry tools and spares should there be the unlikely event of maintenance being required on the motorcycles. The back-up vehicle tows a trailer should a rider prefer to sit out on any of the daily legs.
The driver of the back-up vehicle is also a professional photographer and will endeavour to capture many memories for you to take home with you after the trip to share with your family and friends.
Included in the back-up vehicle is a comprehensive first aid kit and your guide will always be a trained and current First Aider.
(The back-up vehicle is not included in the four day Lesotho tour and it is advised that only well experienced riders do this tour. Riders on this tour will be provided with waterproof soft luggage bags and a tank bag.)
Safety is of paramount importance. On your arrival at Durban’s King Shaka International Airport, you will be transferred to your luxury hotel. That evening before dinner there will be a riders’ briefing detailing South African road conditions, rider behaviour, the behaviour of other road users and expected weather conditions for the tour.
We do not take more than 4 riders per trip, so there will always only be a maximum of 5 motorcycles including the guide on tour. Small groups are safer to manage.
Besides having first aid facilities available en-route, we have aligned ourselves with the best possible emergency medical response facilities in South Africa. This includes an air ambulance service. Should there be a medical emergency of any sort, the rider will have some of the best medical care available.
